CLWSC withdraws proposed permit for wastewater treatment facility in Startzville

Under fire from environmental groups, Tom Hodge, general manager of Canyon Lake Water Service Company, announced on April 24 that CLWSC is withdrawing the proposed permit received from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to construct and operate a wastewater treatment facility in Startzville.

Bulverde/Spring Branch EMS to build new station
Plans are underway to break ground in May for a new Bulverde/Spring Branch EMS station.


Comal County Commissioners Court highlights
The April 24, 2020 session of Commissioner’s Court of Comal County opened promptly at 8:15 a.m. County Judge Danny Scheel and Commissioners, Jack Dawson, Precinct 1; Gregory Parker, Precinct 3; and Jan Kennady, Precinct 4, were in attendance. Jay Millican was absent from the session.


Smithson Valley sweeps Westlake 2-0
This just in: Smithson Valley’s softball team (25-2 overall) is pretty good.


Ranger baseball team heading into playoffs
The Smithson Valley Ranger baseball club (22-6-1 overall, 13-3 in district) wrapped up the #2 seed in district 26-5A during last week’s schedule, beating Judson 5-4 last Tuesday before cruising past Churchill 7-1 on Friday night in the regular season finale.
