Ranger softball No. 1 in area

There is no doubt that Taryn Munoz is the best softball pitcher in Texas High School.

The Rangers are now rated No. 1 in the Alamo City and this past Monday, Munoz wasted little time on the hill, tossing a perfect no-hitter against MacArthur, 2-0.

Against the Lady Brahmas, Munoz had full control of her stunning curve ball and especially her blazing fast ball. They sailed perfectly across the plate, keeping Mac completely off-balance throughout the game.

"I've had no-hitters before, but nothing like this one against a team like MacArthur, who is a good team," Munoz said.

"I felt really good out there on the mound, and I felt that I had good control of all my pitches."

And this past Friday, pitching with only three days rest, Munoz dashed back to the mound to stash-away SA Reagan 2-1, as she blew past 10 batters.

Munoz had ample help at the plate from Jessica Romero who cracked a run-scoring double to plate Candace Gillespie for the winning run.
