Beautiful people: A night of art and fashion at Canyon Lake
The fashion world seems to have taken notice of the natural beauty or beauties of the Canyon Lake area (or a least some very influential people in the fashion world have).
First to make the discovery was Ike Gamez, of i-Candy Management. Gamez is a former talent scout for some of the world's top modeling agencies. He is also an accomplished fashion photographer, who decided to take his knowledge of the fashion industry and open a production and management company.
Gamez has discovered, developed and now personally manages some of the top careers in the business. He came to the Canyon Lake area from New York City to further develop the career of one of his new talents, a Smithson Valley High School senior named Michelle Easterlin.
Other local models strutted down the catwalk in a fashion show Monday night in front of talent agents from New York (Fredo Montes of Phantom Management and Mexico City (Christina Santos Talent) who were brought in to evaluate the models' potential as future stars of tomorrow.
The Sassy Spur Boutique in Bulverde, Texas, provided the fashions for the show. The show also featured artwork such as paintings, photos, sketches and poetry provided by local youth.
