SVHS to crown king and queen Friday night By Crystal Gottfried Smithson Valley High School will announce this year's homecoming court during Friday's football game against Robert E. Lee High School. "Nominations for homecoming court representatives for each class were taken during all lunch periods during the first week of October," said Janaet McNeely, student council advisor. "The Homecoming Court consists of a freshman Baroness and Baron, a sophomore Duchess and Duke and a junior Princess and Prince. Senior class representatives are nominated to be the King and Queen." The underclassmen winners were announced at school last Friday. The homecoming King and Queen will be chosen from the senior class nominees of six girls and six boys. The nominees for Queen are Brittany Beck, Katie Funk, Shayln Gentry, Amanda Klar, Vanessa Olivas, Casey Thompson. The nominees for King are Clay Fuller, Michael Herrar, John Kublank, J.T. Schlueder, Marshall Smith and David Stahl. The homecoming court and senior nominees will be escorted onto the field during half-time activities. The 2004 homecoming Queen, Amy Chollet, will crown this year's queen. Immediately following the game, the SVHS student council will host an Hawiian Luau homecoming dance in the gym. A pre-game hot-dog dinner served in the school cafeteria at 6 p.m. and a community pep rally starting at 7:30 pm in the gym. | ||||||||||||||||
