In the second quarter, the Rattlers failed to take advantage of an intercepted Bailey ball forcing them to punt. At four minutes left in the half the score became 17-7 with a Sweet 22-yard field goal. With San Marcos failing to answer with a score at two minutes until half time, the Rangers take possession again. This time they gain a total of 74 yards with three passes by Bailey to Beyer, the last resulting in the Ranger's third touchdown leaving the half with a 24-7 score. The Rangers came back from the break ready for more action and drove 64 yards ending the rush with an impressive drive by Bailey. With 9:13 left in the third quarter, Smithson Valley dominated the board, 31-7. But the Rattlers did not concede. Their next drive, with the help of Tate Smith and Canady and an extra point by Nick Torres, bumped the Rattlers up to 31-14 with seven minutes left in the third quarter. Later in the quarter, the Rangers intercepted a San Marcos pass and took it home with the help of Bailey at 6:19 left to play to make the score 38-14. The Rattler season ended with a triumphant run ending with a 15-yard touchdown by Canady helping him break his school's all time rushing and touchdown records and bringing the final score to 38-21.
