Sunday morning wreck leaves two dead on FM 2722 Cause attributed to limited sight distance On Sunday, December 10, a two car crash on FM 2722 killed a Eva Saenz, 51, and her grandson, Michael Barboza, 4. They were passengers in a 2000 Saturn driven by Barboza's mother, Joann, 21. All were New Braunfels residents. The car was turning into the Judah Christian Center on FM 2722 about 10:25 a.m. for Sunday worship service when a Yukon sport utility vehicle driven by Barbara E. Word of New Braunfels approached from the rear. A factor in the accident was the limited sight distance. The Yukon's right front struck the right rear of the Saturn, despite the driver taking evasive action. The passengers in the Saturn were killed instantly. The driver, Barboza, and her daughter, Viviana, 2, sustained minor injuries. Word was not injured.
