Kolbe earns crime prevention honor | ||||||||||||||
by Crystal Gottfried, Staff Writer Comal County Sheriff's Office Deputy Tim Kolbe was named the 2005 Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist for the State of Texas by the Texas Crime Prevention Association at the association's annual convention. The award is one of the association's top six awards, which include recognition for community volunteers, news media and law enforcement officials who support crime prevention. Kolbe has been with the sheriff's office for 11 years, with a five-year stint teaching the Criminal Justice Program for Comal ISD, from 1993-98, and has been the Crime Prevention/Community Service Coordinator for the department for the last 8 years. He is active with the kids' fingerprinting program, Neighborhood Watch program as well as co-coordinator of New Braunfels / Comal County Crime Stoppers, and coordinator of Comal Co. VINE system. Kolbe has many community education responsibilities which include conducting home security inspections for homeowners who are interested in strengthening their properties against theft and burglary. Kolbe is available to speak to community groups on a variety of crime prevention topics. | ||||||||||||||
